Dowagiac, MI 2001

The following report was received via e-mail in late 2009. A brief followup correspondence was enough to convince us of her sincerity. While the author has authorized the use of her full name, for security reasons we have chosen not to publish it.

"I live in Dowagiac, Michigan. Late fall of 2001 outside my french windows, I watched a creature that looked like a big black bear, with the head of a huge wolf, walk up the hill behind my house. The only way I could describe is was a werewolf.

It was nothing like I had ever seen before in my life. I have been in the Cass County area since 1964. This creature was huge but the strange thing is the walk....was like a panther would do. My stepdaughter witnessed this creature with me.

Now at night sometimes across the street in a 20 plus acre swamp I can hear periodically something thrashing around....Plus a haunting very loud scream noise like a baby hysterically crying. Where I live is very secluded. "
