The following account was received via e-mail. It is long, but quite rich in detail. Of special interest is that this series of encounters took place just a short distance from the 2007 Mississippi sighting.
"I am not sure how to explain all of this or even if I should be.
I live in a small town in South Mississippi called Bogue Chitto. (it's ok if you can't pronounce it, nobody can). About 8 years ago I got a phone call about 2:30 in the morning from my brother in law saying that I needed to come down to his house right then. He was laughing so I didn't think much of it.
When I got there he told me that his father and a friend were coon hunting on some land not far from there and his dad's friend while looking for his coon dogs encountered something he had never seen before. He said it was about 7 to 8 feet tall and covered in short gray and brown hair. It ran after him after he started up his 4 wheeler and drove off. He claimed to have shot at it several times with a 22 caliber pistol. He said he only hit it 2 or 3 times but the strange thing was everytime he would hit whatever this thing was it screamed just like a woman.
It finally ducked off into the woods and disappeared. Later that night I saw the man and he was still ghost white and sweating bullets. All he kept saying was how big and fast it was and not to go back in the woods. Of course I wrote it off to way to much drinking at this point.
A few months later the same man another friend of his went back to the spot. At this time the dried up pond where the sighting had occurred had a little water in it from the rain. There they saw huge tracks that looked like a wolf on steroids. They got back in the truck to head back home to get a camera and take pictures of the prints. All of the sudden before they got back to the road they felt a violent hit on the back of the truck.
Thinking he hit a tree he got out to look but there wasn't a tree close to him. I myself saw the dent that was left in the truck. It looked as if someone took a bag of bricks and hit his truck.
I frequented these woods hunting, fishing, and camping but never had an experience myself like this. Then one day about 4 years ago I was in a tree stand before daylight about 50 yards from a creek. I heard something jump into the creek and start walking down it. It was about 30 degrees that morning so I knew no one in their right mind would be wading the creek.
It would walk for a few seconds then stop. It did this for about 2 or 3 minutes then I heard some bushes move and the wading stopped. A few minutes later I heard footsteps in the woods behind me and soon after total silence. I waited till the sun came up and got out of there as fast as I could. When I told my brother in law what happened we decided to go look around.
We went to the pond where "it" was first seen. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until I walked into an old rundown barn on the property. In the corner of the barn was some old chicken pen wire strung up with a hole dug behind it. In the hole were a few old dog bones. This didn't seem strange at the time because dogs are always running off and dying around there. But what was strange when I looked closer was the skull inside the hole was crushed. All of the teeth were missing and alot of the other bones were broken.
Not a lot happend after that that. Then I started working for an oil field company that has pipelines in that area. I heard stories that you wouldn't believe. One man told me that late one night he was called out to check on an oil well in that area. He reached inside his truck to get a tool and when he turned around something was standing in front of him facing the other way. He said it was about 7 feet tall and had short gray hair and a short stubby snout. He froze in place but the thing never turned around. He said just before it ran off it stuck its nose in the air and made loud puffing sounds then ran off into the woods very fast.
The last thing that I am aware of was while some friends and I were camping on the property. We decided to go looking for it so we headed off to the pond. I parked on an access road just on the other side of the property. As we were walking towards the gate we heard a very deep growl and heard the bushes move not far from us. This growl was nothing that I have ever heard before and hope to never hear again. Some of the older people in the area we asked about it would only say that they have heard stories but it was nothing to worry about because it hasn't hurt anyone up to this point. I feel very silly telling this but after reading and seeing some of the pictures of the footprints it got me to wondering just what is going on down here."
